Thanks. Any 7200rpm ones?
Unfortunately not. Those are all 14(.2 I think)mm height and will not fit in a MBP.

When I was little, I had a blind dislike for macs. I was occasionally forced to use OS 8.somthing at school, and my work on them was restricted to KidPrint. I clearly remember my dad commenting on buying a mac, and me yelling at him. My childhood was one of blind hatrid.
When I began highschool, I got really into creating videos. I got a bunch of footage for a skate video, and was introduced to iMovie, and my first real interaction with a mac. I made many videos after that, and eventually was hired as the head of my school district's video production studio. It was there where I had access to 3ccd cameras, and had the budget to order FCP and DVD studio pro to use there.
Eventually, I got sick of sitting in my studio for hours on end over weekends, and my campaign for a mac at home began. My only computer here was a Compaq Pesario (with the logo covered by and apple sticker) running Windows ME. I halfheardedly pushed for an iMac, but to little avail. It wasn't until my system had to be reformatted that my folks realized there was a problem. Mid October of this year came by, and the discovery of iTunes not working on ME was the straw that broke the camels back.
Using the "I'll need a laptop for college" speech, I got $1000 to spend at Apple store online for an early Christmas presant. Today I placed my order for a 15" Albook, Airport, FCE and BT mouse. The 3.5 years of horrable performance from a $900 computer are drawing to an end, with two weeks of an agonizing wait.

i can do $370 for a pretty much brand new iphone. My uncle barely used it and went back to his blackberry as he liked it better. He probably used it for 2 days. No scratches, nothing at all on it, Brand new in mint condition. I packed it back in the box, and has all accessories, as it would come from the store.
It is an 8gb iPhone. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanx

daveman got it right. My iBook won't sleep when the scanner is NOT plugged it unless I close the lid or choose 'sleep' from the menu.
With the scanner plugged in, my iBook will sleep if I leave it alone for 1 minute (that's what I have it set for in 'Energy Saver').
Because I don't have my scanner plugged in all the time, I'd like to figure out what is causing this behavior. I'm assuming that it's the scanner driver that keeps the system awake when the scanner isn't plugged in. Maybe it's continuously trying to find the scanner and it doesn't give up.
Has anyone heard of this kind of behavior?

sorry for the late reply, I've been without internet, then I forgot about the post.
20 shipped is perfect.
wait, for both, or for one?
For one of them, I don't have a use for two.

I have tried the restore from iTunes.
Good News = I lost no data from what I can see as I backed up prior to reset :)
Bad news = No Change :(
It's really bugging me.

I bought an IMac in November, it is now April.
I bought my 2 boys an ipod touch 4th gen for xmas.
So far, I haven't embraced the Mac experience.
I am incredibly frustrated whenever I try to do anything.
I finally opened an itunes account, and boy that was FUN (NOT).
So now I've downloaded some free apps onto my Imac.
Can someone tell me how, or show me where to find the instructions on how to make the apps go onto the ipods?
Thanks for any real help.

It works perfect. Thanks for sharing.
I hate having to run a program just to make my mouse do that, but it is what it is. I was going to return the mouse, but I am going to keep it now :apple:.

It's so beautiful.
I got a Powerbook 12' on Wednesday. Its the first time i got a new Computer that didn't have any problem when installing the os, and using the buildin Hardware.
Also no problem with using a usb printer, usb storage devices and so on.
I was using Debian GNU/Linux since 1997 as my primay OS 99% of the day.
But the power MAC OS gives you is unbelievable. The terminal works great, all important things are available.
I wrote a termpaper with TeXShop and its an amazing piece of software. Everything works so smooth and I have no problems so far. I didn't even install my beloved vim because there was not need of editing a configfile.
And iTunes kicks ass ... I can see other macs playlists and can listen to them. I normally used noatun but this playlist management from iTunes is like dope :-)
I also have fink installed which gives me back my apt-get and apt-cache so now I really have the best of both worlds. A slick un*x os with a great gui and a huge set of applications.
I have not used my linux machine since I got the new Powerbook, and I think I'll get a new desktop next year which will be an apple too.
Thanks apple, awesome job on this piece of hardware and software.

Thanks - ok what about using something like mail or entourage? Can those apps run at the same time as Outlook? And can I use them to access my 2003 mail (even though it's only accessible via OWA)?

Agree with tyr2, a 2 MB limit is insanely small.
If you have access to the unix command line on both ends (use Terminal on the Mac), you can use the 'split' and 'cat' utilities to split up the file. For example, before transferring, you would do:
split -b 2m file_name
This creates 2-MB files with names 'xaa', 'xab', 'xac', and so on. Transfer them to the host, and then on the host do:
cat x?? > file_name
Of course, if your host is really this limiting on upload sizes, I have a feeling that they don't give you access to the unix command line, and thus this method will not work.

Hi all,
I hope that somebody can help.
I first noticed this problem after I noticed a new feature on the phones settings for use as a hotspot. My macbooks wireless card is shot so I plugged in my 3Gs via the usb and used it as a hotspot. I used this a couple of times no problem and then for a longer period during this longer period my phone crashed and had a half lit (as in it wasn't turned off as you could just make out the light from the home screen) screen. I did not know how to reset my iPhone at this point so I just had to wait until the battery ran out - luckily I have an iPhone and did not need to wait all that long... After that it was really slow when opening apps and texting was a nightmare and all of a sudden... back to normal.
I though "ah, freak coincidence" plug it back in as a hotspot, unplug it and it seemed fine. A short while later it's back to the unresponsiveness. The text is driving me mad. It throws in fullstops where ever it likes changes my text randomly, keys stick (as on the homescreen) it's just a really bad experience at the moment. The first time lasted about 2 days. this latest time is now about 2 weeks in :( HELP!!!!
Is anybody having a similar experience? Can anybody help?
I have today freed up some space, I've closed the app's I don't use but still it's sooooooo slllllloooooowwwwww!
HELP! Please!

never had a problem with my white 3gs - 18 months of use
have just installed Power Support anti glare on the white 4 and looks great, you cant even notice its on, where as on the black it gave a grey-ish shadow to the phone when not in use!
+1 I have a Power Support Anti Glare on my white iPhone 4 and it looks great! I can't even tell it's there.

After the DP2 update, all Quicktime movies won't play.
Even the gesture videos in System Preferences won't show.
Does anyone have the same problem?
No, that is not happening for me. Any helpful errors in the system log when you try to view a movie?

It's incredible the improvement in computing horsepower, but it's also kind of disappointing that fundamentally the software hasn't changed much. Things are prettier of course, and we've been able to store more and more media digitally, but I think we've been grossly underutilizing the advances in hardware from an innovation standpoint.

I've seen a few threads on good value RAM in the states. I'm about to get a new 15" PB. Is there anywhere in Europe that does 1GB sticks at a decent price?
Thanks
