Here is a fool proof way to decide "wait or buy now"...
If the computer you have is not doing what you need then buy a new computer.
If your current computer is serving your needs then don't buy a new computer.
Don't worry about what might be released later if the new computer fixes some problem, then fix the problem now. There are two issues here (1) buying something for nor reason is a waste of money (2) waiting can go on "forever" so don't fall into that trap. Buy what you need when you need it.
+1
Sound advice. If you need it, then do not wait for the redesigned refresh. :) But if you want it, then this is up to you, as forum members can offer their opinions and nothing more.

Apple :apple: would really be a great choice for an ipod dock. Some other makes are okay I guess, but when it comes down to usability and style, I think apple is better. ;)

Not sure about i5, but fast i7 with 4 real cores plus 4 virtual ones can run bigadv. But SMP2 is pretty good, so you need a real fast i7 to get enough bonus to be worth it.
well how do you think an i5 650 would do with the SMP2? stock is 3.2 ghz - but i've read they are easily overclocked to well over 4 ghz on air

Okay nice to know they want neutrality, but why are Google and Verizon doing this alone.

the education "version" is the full retail version. no need to be snappy.
Wrong Zach. Apple's educational versions of their Pro software have "no-commerical use allowed" EULAs.
This is now sold, no thanks to the thread-crappers and FUD-spreaders.
Thanks to all others who contribute positively :)

Didn't 02 Start selling them for 169? If that's the case, I wouldn't say much more than 169 :p
I advise you to put a one day auction in on eBay, as Hustle quite rightly pointed out, the value on Monday will drop very quickly.

Patchburn said it could not detect any CD/DVD writers.
I am not using a DVD writer, just a DVD reader.

I really think that it is a lcd watch or something.
It's too big, it was too early, and why would they even do that?
But it is a neat find.

Open Address Book preferences, click accounts and select synchronize with Google and configure. After that, open isync application, and click sync all. That is all you need :)

I plan on getting an Air strictly to make some simple iPhone/iPad Apps with XCode 4 and do light web browsing and email, watch movies. Will probably also want to upgrade to Lion.
I'm looking at an 11" Air with 64 GB and 2 MB RAM.
Am I really 'cutting it close' if I want to use XCode 4 with these lowish specs? (Assume no other major apps running in the background).
Also, in your opinion, should I bother waiting a month or so for the Core I5 refresh?
Anyone know if the Refresh will have an Ethernet port built in?

Where is the error message coming from?
Netflix?
Safari?
The Hotspot Shield?
We can help you more if you give this info.
Sorry, the error is coming from Netflix when I stream over Safari, even when I have Hotspot shield on. The weird thing is I can use my MBP and it works great.

Personally, I prefer encrypted disk images. That way you've got a protected "vault" of files.
Other than that, I don't know. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if apple releases backlit WIRED keyboards. Unfortunately, unless apple can come up with a more elegant way to charge the Wireless KB (micro USB, hell even a dock connector) I doubt we'll see a wireless backlit KB. The battery life on them currently sucks, I wouldn't want them to drain any faster.
