I did it on both my iPhone and iPad screen protectors. Helped them go on nicely. No bubbles on iPhone, but the iPad one had a couple. fixed them right up with the scotch tape trick.

And it might even be 8.1. Either way the PowerBook is pre-USB, so I'm not sure how a flash drive would work.
Ah, didn't realize it didn't have usb. It would probably be easiest to use network drive space then. I don't imagine the PB had a big enough hard drive in it to have tons of data.

I wouldn't, the quad G5's have major liquid coolant problems that can destroy the machine, if you have to stick with powerpc then get another air cooled dual G5 but an early core 2 duo Intel Mac would be infinitely more future proof.
You are definitely right, an intel would be much better; maybe i have to look out for a solution in that way.
but, still hope someone can answer my question...

You can find them, but its hard and they are expensive. Apart from that it is not a good idea to open an new iMac and void the warranty by messing around with the internals.
Good points, thought it might of been a long shot! Just wish I could have an awesome 2GB graphics in a base 999 iMac!

Those would work. The green drives tend to do that to save power, but the scorpio blue shouldn't cause you any issues.

Anyone have any luck getting the $18.00 fee waived when they upgraded their iPhone? If so what tactic did you use....Just ask, tell them they did it for a friend etc....

I was updating to IOS 4.3.1 , after it was done, it said that I had to restore. When I clicked on restore, after a minute or so window came up showing error and ipad can't be restored. I restarted my computer and unpluged the usb and plug it back in, nothing works. Should I take it tp Apple store?

Yeah, its not the best camera, but it does take some decent pics.
It's actually way better than I was expecting.

Is this the superdrive model or the combo drive? With your specs, it could be either. Which chipset? 10.4 or 10.5? iLife 06 or 08?

Very few here use the graphical client, but isn't there a pref pane to start running it?
You also need a passkey.

I know there is an old thread about the private folder and a few other threads on the internet but I am still confused on why it is happening. People say is virtual memory being backed up or whatever but i don't how to stop the virtual memory from eating up all my HD space. I have a MBP 2.16 GHz core 2 duo with 2 gigs of ram with 120 gig HD. I have 56 gigs of free space when i boot up, but after 3 days of not downloading anything and only really using Safari and using iTunes, i now have 46 gigs. My computer countinues to run very slow as my HD space is taken up. Before, I wouldn't restart my computer for weeks and it would be fine but lately, it seems i need to restart every 2 days. Can anyone give guidance to my situation? Thanks.

I was kind of dancing around this in my other post, but it is now (finally) dawning on me that I don't fully understand the process for backing up.
I'll be shooting on a Canon XF100. The codec is MPEG-2 Long GOP as MXF.
After shooting, back at the hotel, my plan is to import the footage I shot that day to a MBP. I believe I'll be able to import and view the footage via the XF utility software that accompanied the camera.
Is in then as simple as exporting the files in their native format to an external drive? Then worry about transcoding to something more FCE/FCP friendly later? Or, would I need to do something else to them at the time of transfer.
I think I'm essentially looking for the MBP to act as a temporary bridge between the camera and offloading to the drive.
Sorry if this is a total noob question and I will be conducting some tests before I leave, just want to make sure I'm on the right path.
Thanks.

The WGS 95 is somewhat collectable - the Mac II a little less so. I personally like the Mac II because it's one of only two '020 machines (the LC being the other), but most other people don't seem to care. Anything in a Quadra 900 form factor tends to generate interest - especially the WGS line since there aren't as many of them.
The X factor will be shipping - neither of those machines will be inexpensive to ship. I'd recommend heading over to the 68kmla (http://68kmla.org/forums/) site and see if anyone is interested.

30 August Tuesday - put in an order for over 2000 (which included an iPod and 20" iMac) of goods and was cleared for 10 months interest free credit by MBNA
6 September Tuesday - had heard nothing and in the mean time decided to change some items on the order. Was told that I would have to cancel and begin with a new order and would have to speak to MBNA again. Tried to re-order but got tired of waiting.
7 September Wednesday - decided that I would attempt to re-order. Was successful.
8 September Thursday - received MBNA agreement for my original order that had been cancelled, so tore it up and through it away.
9 September Friday - received MBNA agreement for my second order, signed it and posted. Also contacted the Apple Store to inquire about a confirmation email as I had not received one. Was told that I would get one once finance was agreed.
12 September Monday - received an email, so I assumed all was well and that I might get a delivery by the end of the week.
22 September Thursday - having waited nearly two weeks I telephoned to inquire about my order. Was told that finance had not been agreed. I explained all of the above. Was asked to be patient for 24 hours before canceling as the finance department was not open. The Apple Store would get back to me. I gave my mobile number and it was agreed that a message would be left on my voicemail the next day.
23 September Friday - the next day - heard nothing.
No new iMac. Disappointed and upset. Am I being unreasonable? Do I cancel? :(

What you'd like for that is a program that can edit in spectrum view. You would then be able to see the beeps and remove them with some careful selecting and deleting.
A waveform view shows amplitude of the sound (how loud it is) on the vertical. In a spectrum view you generally see the frequency range of the sound on the vertical. You would then see the beeps as short dense patches of sound in a specific frequency range.
Soundtrack Pro will do this. I've also used Izotope RX for this, but that's a fairly pricey app. There are others that will do it as well, but I'm not as well versed in them.

Connected my monitor to my Mac Mini and this is what I get:
OVER SIZE
RECOMMAND MODE
1280X1024
I have a flat-screen Princeton LCD monitor and using minidisplay to vga adapter.
Is my monitor too old? It's my friend's old one he gave to me, and he said he bought it when flat screen LCD models were still a "new thing."

How safe it is to install Apps on MBP downloaded from a torrent website? I mean can I download iWork or Photoshop for example without having problems with Apple and Adobe?
No, it's not safe due to trojans installed in pirated software. Also, we don't discuss software piracy on this site.

Only half of my rigs have the problem, don't know why... Maybe it is unit specific.
Excellent answer I hadn't thought of that. That's probably exactly the problem. They are probably issuing a new unit that requires the updated client. This unit is probably only issued to specific CPUs and also based on time to complete.

Hmm...
Let's decide on a standard Power Mac name.
"Power Mac XYZ"
"PowerMac XYZ"
"Power Macintosh XYZ"
I think we should go with "Power Mac XYZ", since that's how Apple does it.... but I naturally write PowerMac

Good point, I only realised that when I was using my mac to view the site. Who wants IE on a mac anyway ? ;)
