Is my video card supported ?
atMonitor uses Apple's own framework for accessing GPU sensors, so it will support only those video cards that Apple itself supports. If Apple's own "OpenGL Monitor" does not show you the correct information, neither will atMonitor.
----
Personally I've never seen atMonitor's GPU monitor work, it always showed 0%.

If you're a bit comfortable with Terminal try using chmod it might fix your issue. If you don't, just google for chmod.
What I would try:
1. login as root in the terminal
2. cd to the wiki directory
3. type: chmod -R 777 ./
explenation:
-R = will do this to all the subdirectories & files
777 = permissions (everyone can read & write) you might want to change this.
Hope this helps...

my dock currently looks like that.. and the areas where there are spaces on the side are my finder and trash. i know theres another finder icon but it's bugging me because the one right next to it is the finder but there isn't any icon.
i messed everything up with the candybar thing is there any way i can just delete everything and restore my dock to the way it was when i first bought it?!
I would personally back up my files through Time Machine onto an external hard drive and then look for the intall discs that came with your Mac. After that, insert the operating system disc and do a fresh-restall of the OS. After your done with that, just use the migrant Assistant to transfer all your files and settings (but before this, if you believe an application or something of that sort has caused the problem, delete that before you save your files on Time Machine).

seriously, it could be bundled with new computers... apple provides everything else, why not a tool to get everything moved... i've not had a chance to see that switching software in use, but i bet apple could make it even easier :)

An ARM processor would be terrible. Every app would have to be reworked, things like VMware would be dead, bootcamp would be dead, etc.

You don't calibrate your iMac, you calibrate your workflow--scanner, monitor, printer. The result is a ColorSync profile for each element of your workflow. The Displays preference pane allows you to manually calibrate your monitor. However, I have never be able to improve upon my current settings with this.
My recommendation: If you want to calibrate, then get a calibration kit and do the job properly. Otherwise, forget about it.

... well, actually selling it to my Bro. I wanted to wipe out the iBook, and put a clean install of OS X in it, but, restore disks are nowhere to be found --- DAMN!
Question... If I were to buy OS X Panther, will those be OK? Will they allow me to do everything the original disks did (change Admin, passwords, etc.) or am I S.O.L?
I called Apple for the restore discs, and they wanted 100+ for the original discs. For OS X Jaguar?! That's insane, when I can buy OS X Panther for the same amount of money!
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, Thank You! :D
Well,
The original restore disks contained more than just the OS, they also contained the add on apps, Classic environment, Quicken, Games etc.
Do you have a friend who is a Mac guy who could LOAN you their install discs? You're not stealing the OS, if you have a license for it.
But in short, yes Panther install diiscs would be fine.
On another note, you could create new user and just delete the apps he doesnt want too....

I have an iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Both have the same four mail accounts (on two different ISPs/hosts) set up. All work perfectly over wifi.
On the 3G connection, it's not possible to use the same SMTP servers from the ISP (which they block to prevent spam IIRC), and the 3G carrier's outgoing SMTP server must be used. Fine. So they're set up as an 'other' SMTP server, with the device saying:
"If Mail is unsuccessful using the primary server, it will try the other SMTP servers in succession."
On the iphone 4 (and my iphone 3GS before that) this works perfectly, and when out of wifi range it cannot use the primary servers and uses instead the 3G carrier's server - in this case O2. Wonderful.
On the ipad 2 it doesn't work. All addresses OK over wifi, but on 3G it doesn't use the carrier's server - in this case Orange.
When I change the primary server for Orange, or turn off the primary server so the only server available is Orange, it works and sends e-mail. But put something else as the primary and mail just sits in the outbox.
Orange told me I had to switch the server as above whenever going onto their network for it to work. Well I know that shouldn't be the case from my iphone. She also told me that there are so many cell towers within 5 or 10 miles of me with ongoing maintenance that it's not surprising I have a problem as it's due to signal strength. Well I'm in the middle of London so there's a lot of cell towers, oh and I have full strength, oh and I'm not that stupid. And then she said it's due to the merger with T-Mobile which will be sorted by then end of the month. She really said all of this.
So I asked her to stop so that I could seek help elsewhere........
.........any ideas anyone?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers,
Stephen

You can probably get that to work, but you can't us Boot Camp Assistant to get you started. You will have to create a FAT32 partition in Disk Utility and then use that as a target for your Windows install.
Which versions of Windows are supported on your Mac will depend on which Mac it is so you may want to tell us.
The main difference between doing it this way and Boot Camp Assistant, is that BCA sets the default boot to the Windows partition, you will need to hold Alt/Option every time you boot when the Windows installer wants a reboot.
B
Okay yep I understand, however will my Mac recognise the install CD when I boot to the empty Windows partition?
Are you using VirtualBox? Or something else?
Not currently using anything to partition, just disk utility.

Glad to hear that; just to chime in, I love using Parallel over bootcamp because I can instantly switch to other windows whenever I feel like doing something else; I haven't used bootcamp yet and aside from the varying tax the program holds, Parallel is great.

You need to save it with a palette of 2 colours to reduce file size - if your software supports that.

When you have a form and type a paragraph into one of the form elements, and then want to select text within the form, it selects giants swaths of text - there is no way to just select a word or two. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

No, because VPNs operate at a lower level in the OSI stack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSI_model). VPNs run between layer 3 and layer 4, well below layer 7.

Have you a link to your site so we can check it out?
Also who are you using to host it? The location of the host relative to where you are viewing the site from can sometimes make a big difference.
