Well, are the movies working in VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)? WMP can be quite temperamental.
There are currently no viruses for OSX so I wouldn't be worried about those festive movies. :)

Hi
I've had my late 2006 iMac for five years now and have had very few problems with it over the years - I had the LCD panel replaced by Apple last year due to a known issue and that's it.
I use the iMac overnight to play audiobooks, and this morning I noticed I couldn't hear it burbling away when I woke up. It appeared to have switched itself off overnight, but then it wouldn't start up again. Nothing was happening at all - I checked all the cabling, including trying different power sockets and trying the mac's power lead in another bit of kit and vice versa - nothing at all.
I got the service manual online and managed to get the bezel off to check the diagnostic LEDs. All appeared dead at first, which indicated that it needs a new power supply which is what I figured from the start.
I read somewhere that removing and reinserting the battery can fix such problems, and since I tried this, diagnostic LED number 1 (indicating that the power supply is getting good power from the AC outlet according to the manual) now briefly flashes on at the point where the power cable is plugged into the mains, but then goes off again. Nothing still happens when the power button is pressed.
Has anyone got any ideas on this? The manual is clear on the issue if the light doesn't come on at all, but I can't find mention anywhere about it coming on briefly.
Many thanks! :D

You can try here.

I think someone changed the original. You may find it here also.

Here is a flickr search:

I think someone just took the wood background, changed the color and added their favorite apple logo to the center.

Hi all,
This is just a FEELER but I might want to trade my ibook for a more powerfull desktop machine and my eMac for an apple laptop.
iBook I have:
12"@ 1.2Ghz
768 MB ram
30 GB HD
Airport
Combo
Battery holds 95% of original charge!
Out of 10 my ibook cosmetically is at an 8, few scuffs on outer case but the inside is cosmetically perfect.
eMac I have:
1ghz
640 MB ram
60 GB HD
Combo
Cosmeticaly almost perfect
European offers are prefered since shipping is cheaper, once again this is only a feeler(might act on it though:D )

Reception is fine. You need to worry about the water cooling system on your CPUs.
I am on it.. good news is that the G5 Quads compared to the dual 2.5 and dual 2.7's don't have a high rate of LCS leaks, as this was due to the revised liquid cooling system.

only FA or even FS?
In the last case, how much r u willing to get 4 your iphone?
for auction only for the moment - i admit that i put it up on ebay first rather than posting it here for sale because i want to get as much as possible for it and the best prices seem to come from ebay. i will hear offers via PM if there's anyone who doesn't want to go through the hassle of an auction...

how are you connected to the internet at the hospital? is it on the hospital wifi? They may by blocking certain access?
Yes on the hospital wifi network. Not sure why it would block just my business emails from coming through? I get my personal gmail emails just fine and like I said iChat and internet work normally.

Golden rule: do not buy no name RAM. Most of it won't work.
Well known brands like Crucial/Micron, Corsair, Kingston, Hynix, Samsung, Infineon etc. will work. RAM must be low density (ask seller before buying in case of any doubts).

I don't think iOS does share the same Foundation framework as Mac OS X. iOS seems to lack NSConnection and NSDistantObject. It does have NSPort, but only NSMachPort, not NSSocketPort.

Seems like it's just invisible updates (ie. behind the scenes bugfixes). I don't see any new features.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson has died, his family announced Wednesday. He was 76.
Anderson, who managed the Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers to World Series titles, died as a result of complications from dementia, family spokesman Dan Ewald said in a statement.
His death came a day after the family announced he had been placed in hospice care at his home.
Anderson won 2,194 games as a manager, which was the third-highest total in major league history when he retired, trailing Connie Mack and John McGraw. He now stands sixth, also trailing Tony La Russa, Bobby Cox and Joe Torre.
Anderson was the first manager to win World Series titles in both leagues and the only manager to lead two franchises in career wins.
He led Cincinnati's Big Red Machine to World Series wins in 1975-76. He won four National League pennants in Cincinnati from 1970-78 and then was fired after consecutive second-place finishes.
Anderson went to the American League and won there, too, directing the Tigers to a World Series title in 1984 and a division title in 1987. He retired after the 1995 season and was added to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee.
Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda said Wednesday that when he saw Anderson at the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony in August, it was obvious something was wrong.
"He looked bad,'' Lasorda said. "He was really down. He was very sickly, and we had to take him off the stage. And then I called him about 10 days ago because I was thinking about him. We spoke, but I didn't want to speak too long because he sounded exhausted, you know? We talked for maybe eight or 10 minutes, and he thanked me for thinking of him, and that was it.''
Anderson is survived by his wife, Carol; three children and nine grandchildren.http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5764168

Nope, not one of my clever thread titles. A quote from Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips. (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/03/tea-party-leader-calls-boehner-fool/1) Didn't take long for the Tea Party to up the batshite quotient.
The founder of one of the largest Tea Party groups has had enough of the lack of budget cuts sought by House Speaker John Boehner. Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips calls Boehner "a fool," proposing that the movement challenge him in the 2012 elections and saying he's making less sense than Charlie Sheen.
"The Tea Party movement sprang up in 2009 as a reaction to insane government spending," Phillips wrote on his blog. "In the American people spoke, demanding change. Everyone realizes that the level of spending cannot be sustained. John Boehner did not get that message.
"Charlie Sheen is now (making) more sense than John Boehner."..
