The mainsite.swf file only shows me some black blips and a yellow bar, and nothing else. The spatialtest.swf only shows me a big yellow box. Kinda hard to diagnose a problem looking at those.

That reminds me, I need to head over and check out the new Space exhibit and IMAX film. It's still going on, isn't it?
I think its still going on because they have a giant inflatable astronaut on the roof. :D

I ran out of room on my 500GB External HD, I want a new one probably a 1TB. I shoot photography and have 58GB on my HD, is there a way to remove it from my macbook HD and just transfer it to my new external once I get it so I can gain 58GB for my macbook hard drive? Thanks!

I recently purchased an Apple bumper. I really liked how it adds minimal bulk, no additional thickness and protects the iPhone. But it's not perfect, as the inner plastic can rub against the metal band and cause imperfections. It fits very well, but it might stretch under certain conditions.
This mod does two things, 1) stops the plastic from coming into contact with the metal band and 2) better fit. I lined the inner part of the bumper with little slips of tape. The plastic tape insulates the plastic from the metal. The surface of tape has little friction so it rubbing against the metal band won't cause any cosmetic damage. Now, the bumper has a perfect snug fit with my iPhone. What do you think?

I keep up on all this stuff and never heard about it. Or must have been way under the radar.

How can the owner of Kfc have such a bad website?
The one you are looking at is just the local Canadian division.
Nothing to do with being the site of the "owner".
Here is the corporate site…
http://yum.com/
As you can see their reach is global. ;)

How do those software packages work - would I load on my old computer (with the original itunes library) or load on the computer I normally sync the ipad with (which has the shared itunes library)?
how they work is very simple. You just locate where your musics are and then open the program, create playlist, drag and drop and sync. That's it.

Looking for an Illustrator plugin (CS5 compatible) that's similar to HotDoors Cad Tools.
Actually I'm only interested in one that's capable of "measuring" an object and places the dimensions next to each measured side/segment/radius, etc. I really don't care for all the other wonderful features of Cad Tools at the time.
I have to do a lot of these for some die cut specs and it's very time consuming to do it manually (draw the arrows, etc.)...and Cad Tools update for CS5 is very expensive.
Any suggestions.
TIA

Hi guys,
I haven't been able to find any benchmarks comparing the 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 from late 2010 to the new 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 anyone know if it's a worthy upgrade, or mostly insignificant ?

It's not uncommon for LCD monitors to have a dead pixel... having one dead pixel does not mean that there will be others, though. That one pixel is defective (either it doesn't work, or it's stuck ON). Since each pixel on the screen uses three color elements, the problem may be with just one of the three elements... or it could be all three.
If this problem is occurring on a new out of the box monitor, and if it bothers you enough to want to try to do something about it, you can contact your vendor and see if they'll replace the monitor. However, they may want you to pay the return shipping, and there's no guarantee that the new monitor won't also have a dead pixel or two. (CDW let me exchange a Sony LCD with a blown pixel several years ago. They were very nice about it, and I still have the replacement monitor they sent me. FWIW, my other Sony, a 23" LCD, has no problems at all.)
A lot of vendors require a large (10 or more) number of pixels to be defective before they will regard the monitor as defective, so you may not have any options other than to try to ignore it.

I'm trying to migrate data off of a Macintosh Performa 6115CD and a Power Macintosh 7300/180. The Performa is running System 7 and the 7300 is running MacOS9. I do not have an external SCSI adapter to attach the disks to for a raw copy.
What's the best way to get data off of these machines? I was looking into Appletalk over IP but I'm not sure how to proceed.

yeah I know! where do you DL games for it though? and do you think it'd work with OS X? at least for sending music/games to it?
Downloading games or ROM files for this video game system is technically illegal, unless they are home-brewed, and should not be discussed here. The device should work with Mac OS X since it mounts as a USB drive.

If you want to use a sequence of Terminal commands, you can put them in a shell script file (e.g., file /Users/myname/myscript), give the file execute permission (with the command chmod ugo+x /Users/myname/myscript), and then have AppleScript invoke the script rather than invoking a single Terminal command.
--- Example ---
Applescript:
tell application "Terminal" to do script "/Users/myname/myscript"
File /Users/myname/myscript:
#! /bin/sh
cd /Users/myname/perlstuff
...perl conversion command...
...other commands...

Hi,
just bought a Macbook Air recently (2010 edition) and at the same time I bought a mini displayport-HDMI adapter and have been using that to display things on both an external screen and movies on my TV- similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-DisplayPort-DP-HDMI-Adapter-MacBook-Pro-Air-/170621528292?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b9d5e8e4
Now the other day, I took out the converter from the mini displayport on my mac while I could see my mac homescreen picture on my TV, and after putting it back it seems it cannot connect any more to either TV or external monitors.
When I insert the above converter the screen on my MBA turns blue for a second, just at it used to once it detected an external screen, but then nothing happens??? I am very new to the mac world, but can I accidently have turned some setting off or any clues on how to determine what is wrong here?
Unfortunately I dont knwo anyone with a mac I could just try my cable with.
Thanks in advance!
