Reuters reports (http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/idCNSEO19980420091118) that the iPhone has gained final regulatory approval in South Korea, paving the way for a release there in the very near future.Korea Communications Commission said in a statement on Wednesday it would grant Apple's South Korean unit a licence that allows collecting information on locations and provide services such as map, phone locating and related marketing.Exactly when the iPhone will launch there is not yet confirmed, but reports have suggested that it may be before the end of the month.KT Corp, the country's No. 2 mobile carrier which has been negotiating with Apple to introduce iPhone, said sales could start soon but did not provide a date for the launch.

I may be heading to the Galleria for an IPhone. I'm trying the AT&T right by my house (Westheimer & Royal Oaks Dr.) first, if I can't get it there, then it's either Memorial Mall or the Galleria! Good luck, guys...

Hi!

I am creting a Webappication which is able to throw out the content in different DOCTYPES.

Whe unsing the HTML-Template, the rendered Menu is just some purple blocks. When using the XHTML-Template, the buttons are very fine. The generated page looks great with any template in any other browser (KHTML, Safari, Geck, IE 5.0 - 7beta, iCab...)

The last and only Problem is the purple blocks in the menu. Maybe anyone here has had a similar problem??

The Menu is created with the following code (abridged):

Something under the keys, some sort of crud, a hair maybe? This can happen even without spilling liquid on it. Try cleaning under one and see. I've done this a couple of times successfully. I suggest researching how to remove and replace the keys on your unit properly.

Yeah U of A's bookstore will be selling it for $69 on launch night only, 6-7PM Friday night. I'll be going there now instead of the Apple store too lol. They're also offering free tshirts to the first 50 people and say that they will be doing leopard demostrations as well.

could depend on what you are running through winterboard, do you have overlapping themes? widgets? animated L/S etc etc

I have a lock screen theme with weather, a springboard theme with weather but nothing is animated other than the updates for the weather and time. The weather updates every 30 min I belive.

i recently installed 10.3 alongside OS9 on my sister's G4. it was having semi-frequent crashes so i thought i'd reinstall OSX, formatting the HD and therefore getting rid of OS9 for a "cleaner" install..

so i installed 10.3, ran the software update for 10.3.7, and then it crashed again in the middle of the update so i had to reboot. upon rebooting, it kept stalling at "Initializing (*or something) Login Window"... and NOW whenever i try to Erase and Install, the computer consistently crashes (telling me to reboot or power off) at around 3 min left of the install.. around the time it says "Installing Base Subsystem 2... 65%"

can anyone please offer any help?? i honestly have no idea what's wrong with it or how to fix it... i've run Disk Utility several times.. erasing both the volume and the HD.. i even "reset to zeros" and still the same result.. i'm completely baffled that i could still be having any kind of problems installing the OS after completely erasing and zeroing the HD..

It's much simpler than that. Just open the Airport Utility, choose your Time Capsule in the list on the left, click the "Manual Setup" button on the lower left, then click on the "Disks" icon on the top, the click on the "Erase…" button. There you have the option to overwrite the hard disk ("Zero Out Data" in the drop-down menu), which I strongly recommend (it overwrites the whole disk with zeroes; this is gonna take a while). The other options with 7 or 35 passes are only for the ultra-paranoid in my opinion. And they don't take a while, they take an eternity :)

Apple recently upgraded their Java VM to 1.4.2 in OS X. But there is one "catch"- it can only be accessed through WebKit. This means only Safari can use the new Java! Other browsers (like Firefox) are stuck with 1.3.1, a very old version.


Does Apple have plans to fix this? This seems like a major drawback in OS X.
