Ummmm... just hit "APPLE" and "B" in the first view... :p Works in all except the cover flip view.
Or click the eye button on the lower right corner.

I hope that the screen is nice and easy on the eyes. The issues that I've had with devices that try to do this plus other features (i.e. like a palm device) is that: 1) the screens aren't big enough (the iPod mockups look like they will be OK) 2) scrolling is funky (fluid wheel scrolling could be accurate, fun and easy to use and 3) staring at a bright screen for hours of reading is tough on the eyes and feels a little weird.
This is a pretty exciting feature though, can't wait!:D

I applied the firmware w/o issue... Looks to be running well and my temps are staying more even as I continue to use it.

Well if they make it so you can zoom in or choose your text size then that'd be awesome. Otherwise, for those of us who are visually impaired, it's a load of shite.

Somebody needs to clean their screen. Why'd you buy a Magic TrackPad? Do you like it? Is it really that much better than using a regular one or using a standard mouse?
I use one with my MacBook Pro, I just feel it is cleaner and easier to use than a mouse and more convenient than the MacBook's (when at a desk).

Minor nitpick. I believe ia64 stands for the Itanium architecture not the 64-bit version of x86 architecture. EM64T is then name for the x86-64.
Correct.

....and watching the retail pandaemonium Apple brings with its popular products. Simply amazing.
While admittedly many of its advances are pretty nice, and after playing with one for 15 minutes at MicroCenter, I'm sticking with my generation 1 iPad and waiting until iPad 3 comes out.
I like how the new version is much snappier and how pages in Safari don't have to reload so often (plus no checkerboard). However, for me, I'd have to be pretty impatient to just update for those reasons alone. Every iteration is going to likely improve on these points.
The one thing that really tempts me is form factor. The decrease in width makes a noticeable improvement in handling the device. I didn't think the .2 lbs shaved off would make a difference, but it does. I guess when you're dealing with devices already incredibly light, even a .2 lb difference is notable.
As much as I hate to admit it, the new cover is pretty slick. I look forward to seeing what third parties dream up.
Still, in the end, I'm waiting for iPad 3, which will probably have a higher res screen. Besides a better media experience, it opens doors for app developers due to more real estate. Also, by that time, I will have ditched my Android for an iPhone 5 making the iPad camera and Facetime more useful. 4G may even be an option by then.
For those looking for the iPad 2, good luck. If you have never had an iPad, I think you'll find your efforts worth it. I know people love to throw the term around, but it really is a game changer.

With newspaper profits tanking, this may be the way to resurrect the American newspaper. Grab your iPod off the dock in the morning and read the Times on your iPod while you're sitting on the train.

Aww... love this quote:
Music is so deep within all of us, but it's easy to go for a day or a week or a month or a year without really listening to music. And the iPod has changed that for tens of millions of people, and that makes me really happy, because I think music is good for the soul.
What a nice interview.

Interesting.... and what is your prediction for International (Int) since we won't get the iPad before the end of April ? I also believed that once, but with different date for the iPad release (US vs Int) and knowing that about 50% of the sales are Int, I'm not sure about that anymore. End of April will be a shame for Apple... Friends around me already have there i7 laptop... but of course, they had to pay the ultimate price... being on Windows
May, at the earliest; June ?

Well here I go for my very first recall :(
I wonder how long those other batteries (the ones that failed of course) have been running because mine has lasted 2 years without any problems.
Interestingly that my father was telling me about the Dell recall and said that the info he read mentioned Apple. I took him seriously but was going to wait for an Apple recall to be confirmed.
Edit: Well c**p, looks like I shall have to call Apple as my computer is eligible but the battery is not even though it falls within the range.

They had only one which they were trying to see if the customer was going to pick up (bought at another store), but while the clerk was calling to check on it's status they did say that i'd have to by an accessory and apple care if it became available.
These guys are dirty. I didn't feel all that good about going there to get one anyhow, I've never been a fan of their over priced stuff. This was the icing on the cake.
This blatant greed really turns me off, I wont be back ... for one of these or anything else.

people may think this is bad, but actually it's a perfect plan make it the only consumer tablet that anyone sees anywhere and kids make up a huge chunk of what parents purchase. They'll be saying iPad and Apple before Dadda and Mamma

I'm not really fussed about touchscreen imacs but it does all add up. The magic pad for all the Macs without the touch-screen.. Ability to run iOS much like you currently run Dashboard, but much, much cooler..
From a gaming perspective it'd add a hell of a lot of value to the Mac platform.. Various other little apps would be cute additions too.
If they do it well it could offer big added value, and wouldn't signify anything in terms of "the end of the Mac platform" How many people aren't going to get iPhones but DO have Macs? Quite a lot.. How much iTunes store iOS software could Apple sell to those people? Quite a lot, I'd imagine! I'd certainly not mind the chance to play around with iphone software across the desktop too.
I would be very surprised if this sort of thing happens so soon though.
