Siri is one of my favorite apps. I've yet to have it not understand what I was asking for. For fun, we've asked it all sorts of odd things. "Find me a hooker" did just that after scolding me for being naughty. LOL. Seriously though, if you need a cab, you ask the app to get you a cab and it does.
If Apple integrated this throughout IOS it would be a major improvement. If you don't have Siri, I highly recommend it. Ask it anything, and there it is. If they worked in talk to text and a few other things, I'd be over joyed.

I'd be happy if they supported over-the-air WiFi syncing. We can update the OS OTA but not sync my contacts and calendar items? Sheesh.

I HATE 3D... its so poorly executed.... and even if it was better then it still seems a pointless direction to go in.
Soon enough i hope the movie studios see that all their efforts are pointless and stop wasting their budgets on a gimmick that has the masses divided the better.
I am so glad i waited for the iPad 2 and didn't make the mistake of waiting for the iPad 3(D)....!

I do *not* like the G5's case design. It's bulky as heck and all those tiny holes bug me for some reason. It's also a very inconveniently-large size, IMO. Couldn't Apple have done some more shrinking when they created this new monster?
Although bravo to Apple for replacing the ageing PowerMac G5 with something new and faster.
Now that we've got a Mac Pro, what about a plain, old "Mac"? ;)

These are some poor quality pictures captured by my camera on my Razor around 11:00 am today. Nothing too special, except the large apple logos plastered on the South and East side of the Moscone Center West. I acutally stood and watched them trying to get the 8+ story Apple decal straight. It was pretty funny. Security was lax (an old man asleep on a chair) but I didnt have the time to risk entry. You can actually look right into the conference area which I found odd, but I doubt there would be much to reveal as it is still only Friday. Well enjoy!

They only come in glossy screens now? Damn... im a photojournalist and need color accuracy on screen and it would NOT be good if things looked to have more contrast then they actually do. :(

I don't think its finalized, its just that the disk in the image at WWDC 2005 representing Leopard was a place holder since they didn't really come up with a concept for the Disk art yet. Just showing the development pace of the OS which was the main focus of the conference.

Just saw a verizon commercial.. announcing a new phone. It was black, seemed to have an ipod-like click wheel, with a retractable keyboard in a vertical format.. and something about being announced 8.9.06..... do you suppose????

Sorry, I've walked into this discussion a little late in the day so my apolofies if this has been brought up already - won't this make the gap in specs between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro too close for comfort? If I was in the market for a Pro, I'd expect to see a significant differential in performance between the Macbook and my premium product. I wouldn't see the graphics card/RAM capacity/backlit keyboard etc etc as being enough to make me go for it unless the MacBook was crippled in some other way...

Oh ya... he's something cheesie... this has been on my mind for a while. In january, Steve demoed GarageBand and showed how to make PodCast. He did that fake podcast and said 'Hi this is steve, and this is my Super secret apple PodCast' then he proceded to make jokes about the next iPod... he said the next iPod coming out would have a 10 inch screen and weigh 8 pounds.

The vast majority of their sales are to less-technology/gadget-savvy users who have bought their Mac because of other people telling them that Macs are good, rather than the hardware, specs, or software on the computer.
In the end, it is all marketing... which is the case with most of Apple's products.
They have been selling PC hardware now for years at a higher price than their competitors.
Windows 7 isn't any worse (or better) than MacOS for browsing the web or checking email.....
so its not the OS that is influencing soccer moms and emo kids to buy Mac either.
It is the 'cool' factor, IMO

I just thought I would let you know that you could still purchase an iPad at any of the other stores; just because RadioShack sells it as well does not mean that you have to purchase from them. Would you rather they didn't sell it at RadioShack or Walmart at all? Why wouldn't you want people who don't live near any of the other stores to have a nearby store from which to purchase Apple products?
